Red Storm Entertainment was founded by novelist Tom Clancy, managing director Steve Reid and 17 staff members in Cary, North Carolina. The company self-published its first tactical shooter Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six in 1998 and was acquired by Ubisoft in 2000.
