The dark is no place to be alone. After a beautiful show of summer fireworks, two young girls begin to make their way home. However, a mysterious attacker separates them, and both must brave the haunting night filled with unspeakable terrors and survive the darkness.
Yomawari: Midnight Shadows rides the wave from a horror standout from last year, but it fails to bring something new to the table and exaggerates in what made the first game so special.
So the question comes to why you should buy Midnight Shadows? Well if you're looking for a horror game, there are better titles out there and if you want a deep, memorable adventure Yomawari is at most fine. But despite all of this, it's an enjoyable experience for those who like these kind of games or those who enjoyed the previous game.
Yomawari: Midnight Shadows mixes a creepy cute art style, atmospheric sound design and a heart warming story for great comfy horror experience. A few jump scares aside, it captures the scary ambiance perfectly.
Interesting sequel that repeats almost everything that made Yomawari Night Alone great, but with less novelty.
