I would love to be able to recommend this game. Unfortunately, it has a severe bug where the horse collides against objects and gets stuck. This forces me to quit the game and lose progress. The controls are quite fiddly, so it's easy to get stuck. I posted a screenshot of this to Steam.
I'm also disappointed that there are no options to brush and care...
The area around Kaltenbach is beautiful and sometimes you just stand there and enjoy the game world. You can see the similarities with the plot in the movie, but you play another story. Finally a good horse game again.

The landscape graphics are gorgeous on the high quality setting.
I've seen better animations on the horse and rider, but these were still better than a lot of the other ones out there.
It has a very expansive map to explore, with some little hidden areas to discover even after you know the map fairly well.
