I've played a lot of idle task management games and Virtual Cottage is my favorite so far.
- Doesn't have distracting achievement-related tasks.
- "Daily" unlocks rather than session-based unlocks helps slow progression so I'm not burning through all the rewards in a week.
- Optimized to run on my 4 fps work laptop.

I was originally very into the original virtual cottage back in 2023, have been looking forward to the sequel ever since and it did not disappoint!! i use it almost daily and the customization is wonderful, it lets me make the perfect little digital study nook :) + the custom music is very nice. very cute, big fan, would reccomend
overall i like it, but a lot of things still feel too restrictive. the font size adjusts automatically, so sometimes the text gets really tiny on my laptop. you can only play with random players in one room, the cafe.
there are lots of different scenes, but most of them aren't customizable. only the first two rooms, the apartments, can be decorated...
This is genuinely my favourite game to have on in the background while I do homework and my other tasks. The ambient sounds, the ability to upload your own music, and the daily rewards for the cottage are some of my favourite features. I haven't used the timers to their full potential yet (I've had so much work that it's better to just use the stopwatch...
Very reminiscent to the first Virtual Cottage game. There was a larger customizability aspect to the game that I appreciated. It wasn't the cluttered type of customization though like other "similar" games. Most of the furniture worked well together and it overall looked aesthetically pleasing.
In the future, I wish there would be more customizability...
