I'm not a fan of the teleporting mechanics but found that after a while I got used to it, but the lack of free roam and just specific points to teleport to kinda kills it for me. Unearthing Mars switches gameplay styles a little too often to be consistent, and none of the ones it switches to really carry the game. It looks nice, but that's about all I have to say for it.
I'd say Unearthing Mars is well worth a couple of hours away from the real world. It's rough around the edges, but there are some great ideas at play and an enjoyable adventure to be had.
