Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is a fun experience with some really solid writing, but the gameplay base doesn't do anything other games have done better.
I hope Turnip Boy returns to this format because I think this is a better canvas for the ideas the developers have character wise, but I also think it allowed them to be more creative with gameplay than Turnip Boy Robs A Bank (which the review for should be up alongside this one). I think Turnip Boy is worth people’s time, it just comes down to dollar...
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is a classic 2D action-adventure game with all the great elements of the genre. The campaign is a little short but has a fun setting, full of good-natured jokes and nice combat and exploration. This results in a good option for lovers of this style of play.
Even though Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion has a few flaws, it’s not a waste of time, and I believe that spending a few hours in the world of animated plants could brighten someone’s day. It’s definitely the perfect game for a long train ride or a wait at the doctor’s office, especially if you pick it up for the Nintendo Switch.
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is a cute little game that's over way too quickly. While this means that a lot of its questions aren't answered and its mechanics are underutilized, what's here is still a very enjoyable ride with an adorable protagonist (that may need a calculator or two).
