Reception

Total War: Rome 2 is five years old but Rise of the Republic acts as an anti-ageing cream, bolstering it with a new campaign and features that means it can keep up with Total War: Warhammer 2.

The Rise of the Republic expansion is fast-paced, action-packed ... and lacking in depth.

Depicting Rome not as its might empire known to most, but as an unstable and early republic, Rise of The Republic takes the spotlight as the best campaign pack for Total War: Rome II.

A quality prequel expansion that does for Rome II what Rise of the Samurai did for Shogun 2

Total War: Rome II - Rise of the Republic analyzes a rich and fascinating century, with an excellent historical reconstruction
