Except for one particular aspect, The Last Journey succeeds in building an engaging story in an interesting world with good voice acting and beautiful pixel graphics. Only its gameplay is ultimately and unfortunately a discouraging drag. Despite the exciting premise and well made story assets, exploring the vast empty space still feels incredibly exhausting....

I had high hopes the one of the upgrades could help us mine the asteroids for a chance at more fuel, but no such luck. I even found a carbon planet and I was sure it was going to be "the one"...
It seemed interesting at first. Very long gaps between finding anything. I'm pretty sure I stumbled on the final plant having only found two ships and two upgrades but I got lodged in the planet and then lodged in the third ship before any resources popped up. It was a glitch that made me pass up any chance of retrying the game. Slow-moving too.
