Super Pixel Racers is a new top-down racer with punchy 2D pixel graphics, anarchic racing and a thumping 16-bit soundtrack. Thirteen challenging tracks and a range of unpredictable weather conditions put your drifting skills to the test. Meanwhile ruthless opponents look to check your progress at every turn – or better still – end your race altogether. Rise to the top in the single-player career mode, take on up to 4 friends in local multiplayer, or leave challengers from around the world in the dust with online multiplayer support for up to 8 players.

Super Pixel Racers offers a simplified brand of top-down arcade racing, with an intriguing handling model that's simultaneously casual and highly demanding. It might not be the richest, deepest or most rewarding game of its type on Switch, but it's a worthwhile experience for those looking for some solo and local multiplayer arcade kicks.
Although it may not be the title to reboot the genre, Super Pixel Racers includes all the elements from renowned top-view arcade racing games. Endless challenges await in its single player content and the split-screen multiplayer is a good sign to say that this game qualifies as a party game to be played with your friends as well.
There is a lot of content on offer here, but the uninspiring track layouts and imprecise controls led to me getting frustrated the faster I was expected to go and ultimately made completing the game a bit of a chore. It did grow on me, but ultimately it’s tough to recommend.
Overhead racing games don't get much better than Super Pixel Racers. Its tight and intense gameplay is virtually unmatched.
