Subliminal is a psychological horror game inspired by the urban legend of The Backrooms. Bleeding-edge lighting and rendering, handcrafted open-ended levels, light and perspective-based puzzles, nostalgic spaces, unfamiliar faces, and a rotting feeling that something is not quite right.
unique in a lot of ways, graphically astounding, really great atmosphere.
however, i can't recommend it until i can actually finish the main route of the game. the game is so buggy, that the set piece i need to end the game won't spawn. i've reloaded old saves, off and on again, doesn't matter. i took screenshots and emailed the developer, no response.

This game is a scam. The description on the store page and the demo are extremely misleading. As soon as you get to the part where the demo ends, the game has nothing left to offer and just starts copying gameplay concepts from other games and executing them horribly. And the worst part? At the same time the game starts throwing extremely confusing...
Insanely short for $10. Graphics are insane but that's literally everything. as someone who is also a game dev me understanding on how much effort went into this game is unreal. Sadly it was short, didn't feel scary, and puzzles were horrible at times. something like poppy playtime 2 where as the graphics still look stunning but no where near this games...
Personally, I love this game so far. How it handles the metaphor of mental health is really good, as all memories have both happy and sad, etc. I know a lot of people didn't like a monster being included, but I don't mind. I think it symbolizes whatever the main character is trying to forget just fine, and it wasn't too much of a hassle for me to escape....
If I'm being completely honest, I'm not someone who likes to leave negative reviews for games, and I'm not going to not recommend this game for reasons I'll get onto, but I do have to point out how misleading the game description is. I'm sure many have commented on it, but if you're reading the description of this game, and paired that with the Backrooms-style...
