Overview
Sonic the Hedgehog is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Genesis/Mega Drive. The classic, the first one, the unique. Just hear the "Sega" sound and the following one and you'll have travelled back in time 20 years ago. Oh, what memories brings this game up...
The Sonic games hold up to the test of time very well as good solid platformers. I had Sonic 2 as a child so I found Sonic 1 rather hard to get into as it does not have the spin dash move. This game was one of the harder ones to beat, but once you beat it you learn to appreciate how awesome it really was. Die-hard Sonic fans cannot call themselves that without having played and beaten the old school Sonic games, this included.
