Man, I loved Rampart and really wanted this to be great. Unfortunately, there are game-breaking bugs and major UI issues, e.g.:
- Can't place cannons at all (worked in the tutorial but not in the first mission; tried twice)
- Cannon-placement countdown goes well into the negatives
- Overly sensitive input handling means sometimes pressing A will advance...
First impressions are not good.
I loved Rampart back in the day, but it had the decency to start slow and get harder over time.
Every round most of the castle gets destroyed, and the time to rebuild your castle starts out really small.
I've used the bulk of my booty extending that, which is kind of boring.
Also there seems little to no reason to expand...
