Reception

Now SEE, unlike the Dracula game... THIS ONE DIDN'T GET STUCK nor did it have an over abundance of pointless dialogue!!!

Although you are just circling around one island... This H.O.G. was pretty fine.

Some puzzles though... >.>

Ah and well... I just have no qualms with this one. It works and it delivered what was intended.

The narrative is post-colonialist drivel that is all to common in HOGs. White man falls in love with native tribal girl to the consternation of the tribe. For those who like white saviour narratives, and judging by the positive reviews, that's quite a lot of people, walk right in. Boring, backwards and unoriginal.

I really liked it! It has a cozy nostalgic aesthetic.

The first HOG that I ever played front-to-back was a Sherlock Holmes themed game from Frogwares. This one seems to have been originally released the same year, 2010. This HOG certainly shows its age with lackluster, cartoony artwork and well-worn puzzles. The hidden objects are mostly recognizable with only a couple of vague names (mechanical part anyone?)....
