A space station has been swallowed by a black hole, mutants roaming the corridors, and everything seems to have gone mad around you. Be sneaky or blast your way through the station and find a way home, all in a disco-punk atmosphere, as if you were the hero of a 70s B-movie that never existed...
A worthy imitator of the genre classics, reproducing the ideas of System Shock, Thief and Deus Ex, but in a unique setting of ironic science fiction and disco punk.
RetroSpace ultimately feels like a game made by people who understand what makes immersive sims appealing, even if they have not completely polished every part of the formula. Its strongest moments come when you are left alone to figure something out, while its weakest moments happen when the interface or movement gets between you and that freedom.
RetroSpace is an action-packed sci-fi FPS that takes us on a space journey inspired by the 1970s and the BioShock series. The game’s visuals may not impress you at first glance, but don’t let them fool you, as that’s not where this title’s charm lies. RetroSpace has much more to offer and is simply waiting for you to give it a try.
RetroSpace makes the case for why immersive sims are so frequently enjoyable and captivating. The Wild Gentlemen prove that even on a smaller scale, providing players with freedom, opportunity, and a bit of silliness will always result in entertainment.
While I might be hesitant to recommend this game to those who haven’t played an entry in the genre before, RetroSpace's unique blend of weirdness and sheer satisfaction is enough to win over any heart, mutated or otherwise.
