Retro Gadgets is a gadget creation station where you invent, build, solder, code and customise your own electrifying gadgets then share them with the world.
I bought it as part of a programming bundle and cannot recommend this game yet, it just has too many bugs.
On first launch the print button was bugged and gadgets would not print so I thought I was doing something wrong for way too long.
On second launch I accidentally moved part of the tutorial octopus gadget. Great way to learn the game I thought...
Don’t get this game when playing on a steamdeck.
Game either instantly crashes or refuses to open even after reinstalling
Zero Tutorial. Clueless as hell. Absolutely no fun like that!
And the worst part is the background application, that still runs on the computer even after uninstalling the game. Seriously, why add a damn taskbar background application in a game, that nowhere is mentioned and still runs in the background even after completely deleting the game?
I expected Retro Gadgets to be more polished than this. There is basically zero tutorial, you get thrown into the sandbox completely clueless about what you’re supposed to do, and there’s really no fun in it when you have no idea how anything works. I know Story Mode is coming and hopefully that will fix this, but right now the onboarding is just really...
Pretty fun, the code editor could be better. Sometimes it can be a bit janky coding, but the constraints cause creativity, pretty fun.
