Princess Maker 2 Refine is very much a product of its time. The game does very little to guide the player, but instead leaves them to uncover all the little intricacies on their own. Its simple premise, but deep nature will keep you coming back for more. If there is one complaint to be had with Princess Maker, it would be the ridiculously long wait...
A solid retro fantasy life simulator, with a lot of depth and possible paths. However, the myriad of possibilities are too obscured to make for effective and strategic planning.
Even with this issue, it only slightly dampens the experience because Princess Maker 2 Refine is just that good. The simulation gameplay is utterly engrossing as you work to help your daughter down a wide variety of paths.
Princess Maker 2 Refine is a truly unique and extraordinarily catchy teenage girl simulator set in a nice fantasy world. Too bad about some unnecessary technical shortcomings. Fortunately, however, they're not a major disruption to the overall enjoyable experience.
