Avoid if you are easily frustrated or bored by slow-paced puzzle solvers. Play if you love a challenge and are looking for 10+ hours of gameplay out of an Xbox Arcade puzzle solver.
The premise and complexity of the puzzles, mixed with the cheery art style, point to an interesting puzzle experience but you may find that Mystery Castle a bit of an unrewarding drudge if you aren't really into the types of puzzles on offer. Despite its colourful exterior and nice design, Mystery Castle suffers from a few too many repetitive levels to really excel.
This is a fantastic puzzle game. A brilliant old school feeling puzzle game. It’s a game I definitely recommend to old bums like myself who grew up with stuff like this, or young bucks looking to see just what good level design can feel like. Hell, if you just want a good puzzle game, this is one to download.
