Overview

MoonMiners is a cooperative survival simulator of miners in space, in an alternative dystopian future. You take on the role of space miners working for an evil corporation far from home, and it will be much easier for you to die than to do your job.

Reception

the graphics are great, when I bought the game, I thought it would be pretty rough around the edges, but I was pleasantly surprised. mining, repairing and all the other mechanics feel good, and I haven’t run into any bugs so far. I think it might get boring pretty quickly solo, but I played with friends and we had a really good time

The base itself became one of my favorite parts. Having to restore different systems before you can properly start working gives each mission a bit of structure. It also makes returning to the base after being outside feel meaningful rather than just being a place to drop resources.

The game has a good balance between routine and unexpected problems. One minute you're focused on extracting a deposit and the next you have to deal with something that interrupts the whole plan. It doesn't feel overly complicated, but there are enough moving parts to keep the missions interesting.

I spent a few sessions playing solo and then tried co-op. The two experiences feel noticeably different. Solo lets you take things at your own pace, while multiplayer makes even simple jobs more complicated because everyone is moving around and doing their own thing. Both worked well for me.

Steam,

The mix of mining, survival, and a hidden traitor sounds really fun. I like that friendly fire is always on too, definitely adds another layer of chaos.
