Developed and published by ONEUNIVERSE Co., Ltd., the project was designed around the idea of letting users create a personalized virtual companion without requiring extensive knowledge of professional 3D modeling software. Rather than following a conventional campaign or progression structure, the experience focuses almost entirely on designing, customizing, and animating a virtual character. This gives Meta Soulmate a specialized identity, particularly for players interested in character creation, virtual personalities, and VTuber-related content.\nThe strongest element is its character customization system. Meta Soulmate attempts to make designing a 3D avatar enjoyable in its own right instead of treating customization as a secondary feature. Its characters use a colorful and stylized appearance that is especially appropriate for anime-inspired creations. The available tools encourage experimentation with different facial features, body characteristics, clothing, and other visual details. Although it does not provide the enormous technical freedom of professional modeling software, the simplified approach makes the process considerably easier for inexperienced creators to understand.\nClothing customization provides another layer of flexibility. Outfits are divided into individual components rather than restricting users to complete predetermined costumes. This allows different pieces to be combined, making it possible to produce more distinctive character designs from the available assets. Meta Soulmate also supports texture customization for costumes, faces, and bodies. This is particularly valuable because it extends personalization beyond selecting predefined options. Users willing to spend additional time modifying textures can create characters that look substantially different from the standard designs.\nAn especially interesting feature is the method used for makeup customization. Users can save a character's facial image in a two-dimensional format, modify that image using external editing software, and then apply the changes back to the three-dimensional avatar. It is a practical bridge between traditional image editing and 3D character customization. Someone familiar with ordinary painting or graphics programs can therefore produce personalized facial details without having to master complicated three-dimensional texture workflows.\nMeta Soulmate was also intended to function as more than a static avatar designer. Face tracking allows created characters to respond to the user's expressions, making the software potentially useful for basic VTuber activities. Meta Soulmate is a creative avatar-building application that approaches character design with the accessibility and playful presentation of a video game. This gives Meta Soulmate a specialized identity, particularly for players interested in character creation, virtual personalities, and VTuber-related content.

The strongest element is its character customization system. Although it does not provide the enormous technical freedom of professional modeling software, the simplified approach makes the process considerably easier for inexperienced creators to understand.

Clothing customization provides another layer of flexibility. Users willing to spend additional time modifying textures can create characters that look substantially different from the standard designs.

An especially interesting feature is the method used for makeup customization. Users can save a character's facial image in a two-dimensional format, modify that image using external editing software, and then apply the changes back to the three-dimensional avatar. It is a practical bridge between traditional image editing and 3D character customization. Someone familiar with ordinary painting or graphics programs can therefore produce personalized facial details without having to master complicated three-dimensional texture workflows.

Meta Soulmate was also intended to function as more than a static avatar designer. Face tracking allows created characters to respond to the user's expressions, making the software potentially useful for basic VTuber activities. This connection between character creation and virtual performance is one of the project's most promising concepts. Instead of designing a character in one application and then relying entirely on separate software to bring it to life, Meta Soulmate attempted to place several stages of the process within the same environment.
