“Kursk” is an adventure and survival game coming to PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will look at the tragedy of the submarine ship from a new angle and will combine first-person action with a heavy focus on a carefully crafted story and an engrossing gameplay.
Jujubee S.A.’s efforts in creating a different narrative style is admirable, and they did a great job in designing a solid atmosphere and a dynamic environment. But when it comes to presenting a video game inspired by real historical events, KURSK falls a little bit short, and besides that the core gameplay is not really entertaining either.
When I wasn’t about to throw up by its canned animations and jerky movement, I found there’s a decent game in here that could have been handled much better. KURSK did well at showing that these Russians were humans, not monsters – and some of them were basically kids. This is an amazingly looking game that’s an unfortunate, buggy mess.
