A party-based RPG with turn-based combat. Heroes of the Seven Islands is a comfy yet challenging adventure with side quests in a vast fairytale world, inspired by 90s games.
This is the kind of game that to me examplifies what are the good kind of "one person project" games. The scope is perfectly handled. Game knows what it does, what it doesn't and why it's good for the player.
At its core it's something like Might&MagicVI meets Donjon (Dungeon, French comic book that is heroic fantasy but with indie comic style and writing)....
Cute graphics and whimsical characters. There isn't a whole lot else to get into. The RPG mechanics are rudimentary like the old Might & Magic games. It's not a hugely challenging game, unless you want to play for score. That isn't to say that the class design, items, spells and abilities aren't interesting, they get the job done and are fairly fun...
Very fun point and click rpg game. Short and sweet.
This game is more than it appears. It has a lot of charm and it's actually fun to play. It's inspired by Might & Magic but it has its unique identity. Recommended to all old school, blobber fans.
In the age of AI-slop, hand-drawn has become even more precious to me ♥
I only got a couple quest keys in but there were several, mini moments of wholesomeness that melted my heart.
Very cute and the UI feels so nostalgic.
