Maybe just sticking to Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee was a wise choice after all.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is a game that wears its 2002 design on its sleeve and is better because of it. The game has its issues, yes, but is just so much fun to sit down and play with your friends in an all out free for all that you can look past the shortcomings.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is a true love letter to the franchise that successfully brings back everything that made the 2002 original work and revitalises it for modern audiences. While it does suffer from a small roster and a tiresome progression system, it more than makes up for that with its impressive movie-like presentation...

Yeah, I'm a bit underwhelmed by Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered. Maybe the remaster implementation is perfectly fine, but that hardly makes this extremely sluggish brawler shine in a better light. Still, if you're a fan of the original game or the classic Godzilla films, go for it—it'll work out.

This is an arena-style fighting game with a retro feel. It’s true that it’s a far cry from the more technical fighting games out there. In other words, it’s a far cry from the *Street Fighter* or *Mortal Kombat* series. But for anyone who enjoyed the original game, this remaster will be a real treat, since the game looks better than ever.
