The first game was better, it didn't backseat game you with a forced tutorial. There's actually a forum post full of players complaining about it and the dev locked it.
Update: I'm now permanently banned for the forums. The devs message to me was "piss off". Don't buy this game. The developer doesn't listen to or respect their players.

The game is fine, but it really burns through the player's good will with the cringe ass text and the dev being absolutely unable to stop back seating.
I don't want you to tell me how to use the weapons or how to build them. That's the only fun part of your game.

This game is phenomenal - creative, packed with content, and pretty much maximally replayable, yet at the same time runs are fairly quick enough and can be saved partway through, well-suited to both casual play and keeping yourself entertained on long flights or road trips.
