The whole ethos of Free Running (an urban environment sport also known as Parkour) is to be free, break boundaries, go where others dare not. In this game, the world around you becomes your playground -- where others walk, you jump; where others stop, you climb; where others stall, you leap to victory!
They did make all kind of games back in the day.
Sure, this does look pretty dated nowadays and the controls were clunky even then, but Free Running predates Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge, and everything else you could think of that puts a focus on player creativity in movement.
