In Dune: Imperium, you'll step into the role of one of the leaders of the Great Houses of the Imperium in a struggle to control the planet Arrakis and the invaluable Spice it provides.
The game plays out in a series of ten rounds, each of which is defined by a new Conflict on the surface of the planet; some award critical resources, and some provide Victory Points that will propel you to dominance. But choose your battles wisely: spread your forces too thin, and you'll find your enemies growing too strong to oppose.
Each round, you'll draw a hand of five cards from your deck, which will get stronger over the course of the game as you acquire new cards. Each card can be played in one of two ways: To send an Agent out into the Imperium to gather resources, or to Reveal at the end of the round to purchase new powerful cards. You must maintain a careful balance to get the most of the resources available to you. How will you find your path?
As your game progresses, you'll vie for Influence...
Great game, but the lobby is deep desert. Almost nobody is online, and the few people who are all seem to be playing with the expansions, which I don't have. So I sit there like a Fremen at the edge of the sand, thumping for a worm that never comes and rationing my patience like water.
Spent more than enough time on this game for an accurate review which you will get right now.
The Good:
The board game itself is fantastic and the interface for the PC works well. That's what kept me playing.
The BAD:
There's not enough online players so if you want live play online, good luck. Too much time waiting for players. You'll also need to...
Very good board game, cards are interesting, doesn't feel like there are any ways to runaway with the board so it stays competitive up until the end. Good app - a little expensive for what it is, but a solid game.
This game is great! There will be an upcoming Dune Imperium tournament (The Arrakis Open) in Indonesia so I bought this game as a tool for training. Fantastic. Help me understand a game a lot more.
It’s complicated at first, but it’s worth it. This game has incredible depth and offers an amazing number of possibilities. Unfortunately, there aren't many online players, so you often have to play against the AI, which eventually becomes too easy. The game is best played in real life as a board game with friends!
