Gameplay is certainly more of the same, wrapped in a new narrative, but it matches the same high standard set by the original.

Overview

Adam Jensen is back in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – A Criminal Past, along with both an old acquaintance in Delara Auzenne, and new characters. The second Story DLC will provide players with more insight into the lore of the Deus Ex Universe, allowing them to experience Adam Jensen’s first mission for TF29, set some time before the events of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Combining some excellent stealth gameplay, lots of exploration, and some terrific plotting, "A Criminal Past" is peak Deus Ex.
The new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DLC offers a nice, challenging experience for the player, thanks to a rich and complex new mission, a hefty level design (whereas the prison setting fits perfectly) and a lot of choices that favour the stealth gameplay.
A disappointing finale for a series that started out with huge potential, but which fails to tie up any loose ends satisfactorily.
A Criminal Past represents a rich add-on for Deus Ex Mankind Divided, with a great level design and a beautiful storyline.
