Arkana the Evil One has imprisoned souls to feed its dark power. Stop Arkana before it is too late. Explore the castle and the catacombs of Nordar and free each and every soul. Avoid Arkana's demonic servants or fight them using your power of magic. Collect the magic items and use them wisely to call a halt to the spreading of darkness... DemonLisher is an action game with a top-down view. The player controls a mage who descends into the chambers of an old castle to defeat demons. On each level the mage must free all "souls" imprisoned throughout the map, then enter the gate. Demons of various kinds keep appearing, and most of them can be defeated with magic. The mage starts with a basic spell that shoots sparks, but it's possible to collect artifacts which temporarily allow using other spells, such as projectiles that freeze or slow down demons. The mage's health is depleted by demon attacks and the level must be restarted if the mage is killed.
Pac-man with shooter dynamics tackled on... the big drawback is the muddy graphics make it more of a chore to play than it should be. The game would benefit if it was just a pure top down 2D game instead of using its ugly 3D isometric view.
Otherwise for 2 quarters might be worth looking into if the base gameplay sounds at all appealing to you.
Demonlisher is ugly, and the gameplay may be original, but it doesn't feel like it: run around and shoot monsters while collecting stuff. This game wasmade back when 640x480 was still a thing and 3D was cool (and it would have been ugly even then); today, anyone would whip this up in 2D in Flash and make it actually playable and enjoyable and nice to...
I bought this game in a fit of temporary insanity because it was cheap and because for some reason I thought it was a Diablo clone. If I had spent more than a few seconds perusing the Steam store page I would've realized Demonlisher is a Pacman clone, not a Diablo clone, and not a very good one at that. So congratulations, if you're reading this review...
It is a kind of reloaded pacman with demons and 3d graphics which may not be the best but which are pleaseant to watch as you can easely see your character and the other elements in the level.
An issue though is the lack of customisable settings and resolution.
