Bought it a long time ago and followed before it was even on steam. i even recall one of the packages coming with an action figure. im not sure if that happened or not and i think that package was like $100...either way the game got abandoned and i regret buying it

Overview
Darkout is a sandbox action-game with survival and strategy components. You are the only survivor after your escape pod crashes on a strange planet. The environment is full of mysterious and hostile shadow creatures, and the only way to survive will be to gather resources used to craft and researching new weapons and technologies. The world is sunk in permanent darkness and the shadow creatures surrounding you are only sensitive to the light, and plays a key role in the battle against the dark. You will have to use your strategic skills to build up new facilities which will allow you to progress further and explore the vast landscape. Darkout brings a completely new experience to the player, frenetic, distressing and graphically far superior to what has been seen before in the sandbox genre.

Controls are a bit clunky, but the game is fun and hard. Problem is that: if so many people can't play it, I can't really recommend it, although I'll still leave a thumbs-up review. I tried playing it on the Steam Deck, but the screen goes completely black even though the audio continues to work. Maybe it can be fixed by using a different Proton version....
This game had potential, but is unfinished and was abandoned in 2013. It should not be available for sale. I regret supporting it and won't purchase anything from them or their publisher again.
