Cold Rails is a horror adventure set on a cold train. You work as a bartender, serving drinks to passengers and uncovering a story as a mysterious woman in a dress stalks the train.
Not refunding and it's not bad, but I guess it's not what I expected playing this after Kiosk. Played through the prologue and a bit into the main game. Maybe I'm just not a fan of this type of game.
Things that I wasn't a fan of:
- There's a bit of an exposition dump in the prologue through dialogue. None of it feels natural to me.
- Bartending wasn't...
I'm very hesitant to post negative reviews but I'm a bit disappointed. I absolutely loved Kiosk and the demo of this game, but the actual gameplay is nothing like either. The demo and game description led me to believe that this game would be primarily bartending, with puzzles, chase sequences, and exploring mixed in, but the demo just ended up being...
Enjoyed playing this one.
Loved the art style and the atmosphere, the difficulty is just right.
I also have to admit the screamers did scare me.
Only downside is that I've experienced some graphic glitches (I use arch btw) but I guess this has to do with my system.
Nontheless a great game, worth the shot.
I haven't seen the ending, but this IS SUCH A GOOD GAME. There are a few uncalled jumpscares in The Prologue but other than that IT'S A REALLY GOOD GAME. 10/10 WORTH IT.
Very charming game! Vivi Thank you for the experience!
