Terraform a dead planet back to life in this open world survival crafting game. Explore ruins, gather resources, print machines, drive modular vehicles, grow forests, biomes, and ecosystems and create life and make it thrive with your own hands.
Blossom is very short for this type of game. I would estimate that a full run would take 25 hours.
Placing buldings is delayed in the late game. You hover the building over an appropriate space and wait for the game to recognize your action before you can start the build with a mouse click.
Expanding your base is cumbersome. Printers can only print...
I really enjoyed Blossom. It played very similarly to another planet terraform game, but it won on how surprisingly emotional the story was, hardly any technical issues playing (the worst was some terrain getting you stuck, the unstuck option solved each of these), and how well it worked with the recently added co-op mode. I'm amazed it was developed...
Very good game.
I played solo but it has great potential for multiplayer.
It reminds me of Astroneer.
It can be a bit grindy near the end but it's worth it.
It's an overall miss for me. You fill the trope of the "last living thing" needed to save humanity and revive it. You start off bruised and barely awake and you start your gather-crafter journey immediately. You start off slow and short distance as your reserves are low and obviously you progress to where "what energy?"
Over the course of the campaign...
Don't buy this unless it's on a pretty steep sale. The game is pretty shallow, the story feels disconnected from the game, there are parts of the build system that are entirely pointless, and towards the end you're dealing with artificial scarcity issues that feel like they only exist to drag out the game and I STILL beat the whole thing in 20ish hours...
