No wonder this changed games back then
The way its narrative structure blends with the places you visit and the environment in general is nothing short of perfect, the story is too. Something is happening in front of you and there's always a theme in the back.
The characters and their ideals are extremely solid and interesting considering its a 2007...
this is worse than the original port in most aspects. the sheer amount of visuals that they broke in this version is astounding, basically every frame of the game from start to finish has something either wrong or missing. yeah they added some stuff but a poorly-scaled starfish on a window hardly makes up for significantly lower quality water effects...
Played this 10 years back and dropped it after a few hours, but decided to replay because I think I wasn't being fair with the criticism I had back then. I was right, this is an incredible game, even to this day it plays phenomenally with no mods needed or tweaks
This game terrified me as a kid but become on of the best games ive ever play 11/10 would play it again and again!
A masterpiece of a game, still feeling fresh and modern 19 years since it's original release. A relic of a time when Ken Levine wasn't a subversive sack of crap who tainted and butchered his own universe with Elizabeth the Mary-Sue and the litany of retcons in the overglazed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is INFINITE.
I don't need to sell you on this game, you know...
