It loads painfully slow even on an SSD. Save the 10 dollars...

It was released on Steam with updated features, additional content, and technical improvements over the original game. The Definitive Edition expands the scope of the grand strategy title while retaining the core gameplay of diplomacy, conquest, and empire management. The Definitive Edition introduces a larger map with 13,892 provinces, new civilizations, scenarios, and the addition of religions as a gameplay element. A good, expansive remake of the original game, but no drastic changes. Felt more like a major update or DLC rather than another game that's more expensive than the original.
