In Arcana Heart 3, chaos is erupting in Japan. Planar rifts are appearing in various locations around the country and it is suspected that the Drexler Institute, a player in the Great War many years ago and creator of the Divine Celestial Weapon, is involved. There is a rumor circulating that if one gets their hands on a celestial stone from a rift, their wishes will be granted. Their power draws many young women to search for them, either to seal them away or in hopes that the rumors are true. Each has their own reasons for the hunt, and they won't allow anyone stand in their way, enemy…or friend alike.
With a little more polish in its presentation, Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!! would have been a must-have addition to the slowly-increasing Steam library of fighting games. Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!! provides an enjoyable experience for the most part, but it's let down slightly by the storytelling side. Given the oversaturation of similarly styled fighters in the genre, it struggles to find its own identity, although fighting fans that enjoy a fast paced arcade style brawler could do much worse than picking up a copy...
If you think some of the characters feel overpowered; it's not your imagination. The developers have previously had problems with characters being unbalanced on the first Arcana Heart game and Arcana Heart 2, releasing numerous patches to fix the issues
In all, Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!! is a fun game with great combat that should not be missed by lovers of anime and fighting games alike. Even if you don’t have the time to reach competitive levels of play, it’s still a load of fun single-player or with friends.
